well, ok
Since Calliope asked:
I did indeed start my period right before we left for Oregon. In fact, I started it the Wednesday before. Which meant that I could have called and pushed for an ultrasound on the Thursday we left, filled my prescription, and then been on Clomid during our vacation. We could have inseminated right upon returning home.
I am so glad I didn't do that.
I am so glad you guys talked me out of TTC craziness around the trip.
Because I could have gotten myself all worked up -- chances are that they wouldn't have been able to fit me in on such incredibly short notice, and then with the running around, the filling of scripts on top of the crazy packing -- not fun.
It was good also just to enjoy our trip and not have a clomid-crazy on our hands.
And do you all remember how depressed I was upon first returning? No? Well, I mentioned it in passing, but I'll just tell you here that I was pretty damn low. Looking longingly at the train rails wondering why someone wouldn't just push me already and get it over with. Wondering why we had ever thought to go on vacation in the first place. Why be happy if it's just going to go away again so quickly.
But I'm better now, really. It took a couple of days (and some really, really amazing sex, let's just be frank here) and a wonderful weekend reconnecting with friends and my current life, but I finally feel all refreshed and balanced again. The vacation WAS worth it -- it just had a bit of a delayed reaction. I liken it to surgery: the bliss of the trip itself is like the anesthesia and great drugs they give you, the depression upon returning is the painful recovery, and now here I am recovered and healthy again. Or so I hope.
Anyway, this was all a long way of telling you that I'm on CD 21 and am expecting my period any day now (since my cycles range from 15 to 28 days long with the mean being 20) and that once I see red I'll call the clinic, schedule the ultrasound (eek, my first experience with a dildo-cam, I'm nervous because I'm so small down there) and embark on the rollercoaster.
Just so's ya know!

Good luck! Hopefully the dildocam won't be too scary or uncomfortable.
I'm glad you didn't deal with ttc over vaca either. Good luck this cycle!
ok ok...have you started the clomid yet??
Inquiring minds!
I'm glad too that you enjoyed your vaca and didn't deal w/ the ttc crap. The dildocam really isn't bad at all, hopefully you'll get a good tech. Keep us posted! And goodluck of course.
Dildocam is a breeze. Also fascinating. Yay, Trista!
the wand isn't that big. They should grease it up a bit so hopefully one's size 'down there' wouldn't be an issue.
So...are you on the clomid or what???
